Chris Butler, MIC
Chris Butler is a Physical and Adventurous Training Specialist with over 30 years experience in this field, he now works as a professional mountain and kayak instructor & development trainer. Chris is a holder of the Mountain Instructors Certificate and a Level 4 Inland Kayak Coach. He has gained experience mountaineering and kayaking in the European Alps, North and South America, North and East Africa, Antarctica and at employment at outdoor centres in Wales and Scotland.
He presently combines his own freelance outdoor professional work as a courses provider, trainer and assessor for the Mountain Leader Training England and a technical advisor for schools, colleges and adventure travel companies with work as a team development trainer and provider of overseas expeditions and adventure travel specialist.
Chris is accredited by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority for climbing, trekking and watersports within the UK and is a member of the Association of Mountain Instructors. Recently Chris has spent time in Peru and Bolivia investigating treks in the Andes; provided mountaineering training in the Matterhorn area; arranged an expedition for college students to Morocco and mountain-biked and trekked in the Julian Alps of Slovenia. He has completed several successful ascents of Mount Kilimanjaro leading parties of school groups and adults. Chris has recently returned from facilitating a corporate training programme in Portugal and will soon be travelling to the Carnic Alps in Italy before making one of his regular visits to Tanzania.
