Chris Phillips
Having left the military, Chris spent a number of years working in International Security while pursuing his passion for all things outdoors. In 1997 he decided on a career in the outdoors.
Chris has a Higher National Diploma in Outdoor Education Management, a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Sports Studies, has graduated from Bangor University as an Outdoor Education Teacher and in 2000 was the winner of the BTEC Higher National Student of the Year Award. He is the holder of the Mountain Leader Summer Award, is a Single Pitch rock leader, a Level 4 kayak coach, a canoe safety examiner and a coach trainer and assessor, as well as being a British Fencing Association Club Coach and Orienteering instructor.
Chris has spent most of his life navigating to the tops of some of the most obscure rivers so that he could throw himself down them in small plastic boats and when on dry land has a passion for exploring the French Alps. Originally from South Wales, North Wales has always been an irresistable draw and Chris now lives and works there. He specialises in developing young people with specific needs through UK based residentials and expeditions.
In his spare time he can generally be found in places such as Sardinia, The Dolomites, the French or Swiss Alps climbing bigger and higher than the last time, with winter months spent skiing somewhere.
