SPA Assessment
Single Pitch Award Assessment Course
The course is a thorough 20 hours and will assess: personal lead climbing; group management; the setting up and safe supervision of single pitch crags and climbing walls. We also forward to you an exam paper to be completed before you arrive.
Prior to attending your assessment you will have led and logged a minimum of 40 outdoor climbs on leader placed protection, some of which will be at severe grade, on a variety of rock types and venues. You will have completed an SPA Training Course or gained exemption from training; hold a valid First Aid qualification and have your log book personal profile verified by a referee. Your log book needs to be forwarded to us one month before your assessment date.
